Planning Your Trip

A few helpful tips to make your trip to Brazil smoother, along with itinerary ideas for exploring the country before or after the wedding.

TRAVEL TIPS

SAFETY TIPS

Keep Your Phone Out of Sight
Avoid displaying your phone while walking on the street, especially near the curb, at traffic lights, or with car windows open. Unfortunately, phone snatching can occur in busy areas.

Getting Around by Car

We recommend using Uber Black. In Brazil, Uber Black is generally closer to what UberX is like in many other countries

Armored Car Service

Although it is not necessary, if you would prefer to travel in an armored vehicle, we recommend the Rhino app. Rides must be scheduled in advance and are not available on demand.

GENERAL TIPS

Paying by Card

Credit cards are widely accepted throughout Brazil, including for small purchases, so there is usually no need to carry much cash.

Power Plugs

Brazilian outlets use Type N plugs (two or three round pins), which are compatible with many European plugs (Type C). If you are coming from the United States, where plugs typically have two flat pins (Type A/B), you will need a plug adapter.

Weather in November

November is springtime in São Paulo. Expect warm temperatures—typically between 20–30°C (68–86°F) — with the possibility of occasional rain showers.

Drinking Water

We do not recommend drinking tap water in Brazil. Restaurants also do not usually serve tap water, so if you order water, you will generally be served bottled water.
